Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit!!  

I started this blog in August 2007 to interact with others & to chronicle my own fitness/weight-loss endeavours & a little of my life's general meanderings .

I took up running for real in August 2011 (all that really means is I stopped dabbling on a treadmill in the gym & joined the great outdoors). 

I gradually worked my way up to 5kms, then 10 running my first 10km event in September 2012.  I then tackled my first half marathon (21.1kms) in October 2013 & first full marathon (42.2kms) October 2014.  I am currently training for my 3rd Marathon (44kms this time) in May 2016.  

I also took on a personal trainer in February 2012 initally doing 2 x 30 minute sessions per week (currently doing 1) & haven't looked back fitness wise.

I'm closer a to 50 than 40 something Aussie girl, married with 2 furbabies.

Trixie is a 4 year old Miniature Schnauzer rescue dog who has been with us since October 2015.




And Tuxedo 2yrs 3 months also a rescue (mixed breed) who  has been with us since Feb 2016.




Both of these adorable creatures are slowly filling the hole left by the passing (May 2015) of my darling 16 year old cat Rosy.



We recently (October 2015) moved from our 2 bedroom flat into a 3 bedroom house complete with garden & granny flat in which my 91 year old mother in law now resides after selling the family home of 50 years!  

MIL is in the early stages of Alzheimer's & has general mobility issues due to old age (& no longer drives), but doesn't require too much assistance from us yet.  Although managing her social schedule (which is far busier than ours) takes me quite a bit of time making sure she is in the right place at the right time!!!!

The new living arrangements are taking a little getting used to, but we are getting there.  In the mean time I'll continue to blog about running & the daily challenges life throws our way!
